In this review I will talk about a replica of not the cheapest STEALTH MOD from Italian companies Sunbox and R.S.S. Mods, made as a clone in the Chinese factory SXK.
STEALTH Style Box Mod packaging
The mod is sold in the simplest possible cardboard black box. There is only a single Stealth inscription on the lid and nothing more. The original, if you believe the photos, has a similar box, but instead of the mod name there is the name of the manufacturer’s company.
What’s in the box
The package is also not striking: mod, manual and hex key. On the other hand, what else did you expect? You can’t charge batteries in it, so there is no cable. e-cigarettes in canada There is exactly one removable part – the battery cover, I don’t recall who included a spare one. And the fact that there is no certificate of authenticity or compliance, so it’s a clone. Of course, it’s a bit of a pity that the original didn’t come with the orings, which are not quite necessary here, but the lack of a black heat shrink for the batteries is extremely sad. The Italian towel and felt pouch are not even worth mentioning.
SXK STEALTH Style Box Mod – manualThe manual is exclusively in English, short but exhaustive. The engineers from SXK reduced the functionality of the board, throwing out everything except the most necessary, so the text is three times less.
STEALTH Style Box Mod. Design
The appearance of STEALTH mod can be characterized by the word “strange”, without vaporizer and battery it looks like a hunting duck decoy, futuristic pepper bowl or even some strange part from car wiring. Look for yourself: two cylinders of different heights, the larger of which has a drop-shaped hole, a single button and a screen on an aluminum plate stuck on the side of the cylinders. The case is made of black plastic with a rather rough and rough coating, inside there are aluminum and steel inserts.
On the upper end of the larger cylinder there is a plate with the name of the mod, it has no practical purpose, it is only a decorative element. The height difference from the connector pad to the top step is 37 millimeters, so vaporizers with approximately the same height without taking into account the driptip will look best here.
SXK STEALTH Style Box Mod – Connector
The end of the smaller cylinder ends with a 510 connector, here you can see its stepped design, and this is where the Italians suggest installing the orings, it will prevent the vaporizers from “sticking”. Our Chinese friends considered the orings to be an excess, but they left a place for them, so it won’t be difficult to pick up and put the part in its rightful place. The plus pin in the 510 connector is customizable, with a hexagonal slot. I do not know what religious beliefs the developers of the original mod did not put here a spring-loaded version, and why engineers from SXK completely repeated this element. Of course, adjusting the connector for your vaporizer is a matter of a couple of minutes, but if you regularly change tanks, it may not be the most pleasant thing to do. Another fiasco is hidden in the diameter of the landing pad: in the original STEALTH mod was strictly 24 millimeters, but the Chinese got 23.7 mm. Accordingly, tanks with a diameter of 24 millimeters can no longer be screwed on.
STEALTH Style Box Mod. Personal impressions
SXK STEALTH Style Box Mod – with a 22 mm drip tip
What I liked:
Simple and compact
Very easy to operate
Ideal for pairing with MTL tanks
SXK STEALTH Style Box Mod – with a 22 mm tank
What could have been better
Too simple firmware, nothing but power adjustment
Controversial hole in the body
Cannot install 24 mm diameter tanks
Battery compartment cover rattles without a battery
Battery discharges to 3.3 volts
No built-in charger
Manual connector adjustment
Total
SXK STEALTH Style Box Mod leaves behind strange feelings, on the one hand everything is great (especially the price, compared to the original), but on the other hand, the minor flaws listed above are upsetting. If you consider the device as the simplest stealth stick for an MTL tank, it will be perfect, but if you are used to power settings with a step of 0.1 Watt, a variable voltage mode or preheat settings (not to mention temperature control), the mod may seem too simple and even boring.
