Manufacturers of vape devices are constantly trying to release not just something new, but every day it becomes more and more difficult for them. It’s no longer surprising to see box mods with touch screens, a built-in MP3 player, and even voice control. But practice shows that not all vapers need so many additional functions; for many, a small monochrome display is quite enough. This is why most vapers pay more attention to the practicality of the mod, wanting it to be practical and easy to use. It is not surprising that fashions that are protected from moisture, dust and shock have become very popular. One of the leaders in this direction is the GeekVape company, which has released a whole series of Aegis devices, which are made in a dust-, shock- and moisture-proof case. Not long ago, the Aegis Mini was released with a built-in battery, but many vapers did not like the built-in battery, so it was quite logical for the Aegis Solo Kit by GeekVape to appear, in which the user had the opportunity to replace the traditional 18650 battery. This starter kit will definitely appeal to many vapers, since, given its power, it can be safely classified as indestructible, since all the best traditions of the Aegis series are implemented in it.
General information
Aegis Solo Kit by GeekVape is a starter kit consisting of a box mod in a dust, shock and water protected case, which uses a removable 18650 battery, and a Cerberus Sub Ohm Tank atomizer that has been used many times. Unlike the previous version, in the new box mod you can change the battery yourself when it runs out, rather than urgently looking for a USB charger. It is worth saying that the box mod is made in a case protected from shock and dust and is equipped with the usual AS-100 chipset, which allows you to successfully use the device in the most popular modes. The Cerberus Sub Ohm Tank has been included with GeekVape devices more than once, so it is not a new product, although the mesh evaporator installed in it can provide a lot of tasty and thick vapor. This starter set is currently available in six colors (other colors may also appear): orange, blue, black, green, red and grey.
Equipment
As with most starter kits, the Aegis Solo Kit‘s equipment is quite simple, as it is equipped with a tank powered by replaceable evaporators. But in any case, the vaper is waiting for:
Box mod Aegis Solo;
Cerberus Sub Ohm Tank atomizer with pre-installed 5.5 ml bubble glass and Super Mesh X2 Coil evaporator with a resistance of 0.3 Ohm;
Replacement glass 4ml Ohm;
Replacement Super Mesh X2 Coil 0.3 Ohm;
Device for opening the battery compartment cover;
Spare orings;
USB cable for charging and firmware updates;
User’s Manual.
Box mod Aegis Solo
The Aegis series from GeekVape enjoys well-deserved popularity among vapers not only because of the presence of a productive and reliable chipset, but above all, because it is not afraid of falls, dust and moisture (if you watch the video from the company, which shows testing of mods , lowered into a container of water, it immediately becomes clear why vapers love it). The Aegis Solo box mod is a worthy successor to this series, as it retains all the advantages and benefits.
Compared to the Aegis Mini Solo, it has become a little smaller and lighter, which is good news. But the main feature is the ability to independently install and replace a traditional 18650 battery. In order to ensure the tightness of the battery, the manufacturer provides a special threaded plug that acts as a battery compartment cover. Moreover, the mod is designed for a maximum power of 100 Watts, which will be enough for many vapers.
Speaking of protection, the Aegis Solo has IP67 protection. The mounting diameter of the atomizers that can be used on this device is up to 26 mm, so you can install almost any tank or drip.
The Aegis Solo uses the AS-100 board, tested on other devices, which is capable of operating in the standard modes required by a vaper – Power/VPC/TC/TCR/Bypass. Don’t forget that the board is capable of raising resistance from 0.05 Ohm, which is already a standard today. The box mod is equipped with a small display on which you can find a standard set of operating data: battery charge level, resistance, power, operating mode, voltage, current and number of puffs.
Atomizer Cerberus Sub Ohm Tank
The Cerberus Sub Ohm Tank atomizer can be found on many GeekVape devices, and it is successfully used by vapers. This is not to say that this tank is something supernatural, but it is capable of giving the vaper a fairly good taste and bulk.
The Cerberus Sub Ohm Tank uses Super Mesh X2 Coils designed specifically for it. The evaporator resistance is 0.3 Ohm and it is designed for use at a power of 30-40 Watts. The mesh that is installed in the vaporizer has a fine mesh, allowing the vaper to get excellent taste and bulk.
The vaper chooses the tank volume himself, using either regular 4 ml glass or 5.5 ml bubble. Refilling the tank is extremely simple: just unscrew the top cap and pour liquid into two holes.
Conclusions and impressions
We can safely say that the Aegis Solo Kit by GeekVape will soon supplant the Mini, as it is more practical and easy to use. The starter kit turned out to be very worthy and interesting, since the vaper will not only have the opportunity to replace the battery, but also a small, productive device.
