In this short review we will talk about a miniature mech mod from the masters of AmerPoint — Colibri Stone.
In fact, the mod does not have any packaging as such, and the device arrives in a tube made of foamed polyethylene, which protects the device during transportation. There is no complete set either, unless you decide to order an additional board, which the manufacturer will put in the parcel with the Colibi Mod itself. Therefore, here will simply be a photo of the device with a nice knitted case from Capuchin, in which the mod fell into my hands.
Size of the Colibri Stone Mod The Colibri series devices are well known to domestic vapers who look at miniature mods and compact bundles. The manufacturer, if I’m not mistaken, has been producing its devices since 2014, and atomizers and mods from AmerPoint have settled not only in the collections of many domestic and foreign vapers, but have even long interested cloners. The recent return of popularity to MTL has revived interest in such setups with small tanks or drippers. One of the key features of all “Hummingbirds” is not only the miniature size, allowing you to compare the mod with the famous bird, but also the side button, which the devices are equipped with. vape starter kit canada The Colibri Stone version differs from other mods of the manufacturer in its pot-bellied shape and decorative insert, the body of the device itself is made of stainless steel, and the central part is decorated with an artificial stone made of acrylic. Although the manufacturer states the diameter “in the belly area” of 25 mm, my caliper showed as much as 26.3 mm, but it is precisely due to its shape that the device practically “melts” in your hand, and you do not pay attention to the rather sharp edges near the lid. The setup with a small atomizer can be easily hidden in a fist, and when using it, hold it with just two fingers.
At the time of the review, AmerPoint produces only two design options for its mod: with blue and brown stone, the manufacturer is still only thinking about releasing Colibri Stone for an 18650 battery in this format.

Colibri Stone Mod connector Battery compartment cover of the Colibri Stone Mod
At the top there is a 510 connector, primarily intended for use with ∅22 mm atomizers, with which the mod will look most organic. A brass part is pressed into the stainless steel cover, in which a thread for the atomizer is cut. The connector here is not hybrid, between the atomizer and the battery contact there is a board that is not protected from overflow, and the pin rests against the contact. The bottom of the device is decorated with a battery compartment cover with several engravings: the manufacturer’s name, model name and serial number.
Starting with the fifth version of Colibri, the lid is no longer screwed onto the pipe, but screwed inside, due to the thread and the adjustment to the height of the battery occurs. To manipulate the lid, you will need either tweezers or a coin, for which there is a recess and two round holes, which also serve for emergency gas release. It is worth considering that with excessive force, you can easily damage the board, so you should not be too zealous with the lid. But to ensure reliable contact and the can does not dangle, just press the lid with your finger and screw it all the way in. The battery is installed with the plus down, for which the manufacturer even made a large engraving on the inside: PLUS HERE.
In fact, Colibri is not a mechanical but an electronic mod, as it uses electronics in the circuit. I did not find exact descriptions of the characteristics, what is the current output limitation, and what the board is responsible for. Here, as in the case of mechanical mods, it is worth adhering to simple rules first of all: choose trusted battery manufacturers, carefully monitor the braiding on the cans (especially since the plus goes to the case) and be careful, and running very low-resistance windings on 18350 is generally a bad idea. There is no control here, i.e. it is impossible to turn off the mod or adjust the output power or voltage, everything that is on the battery goes to the winding. In general, it turns out to be a kind of “half-fur”. According to the manufacturer, it is known that the board uses protection against battery overdischarge and has protection against reverse polarity, which was not in previous boards. The threshold has been established empirically when the board stops supplying current to the winding at a resistance of 1.5 Ohm – when the voltage drops to 3.1 V. Most likely, with a lower resistance, the board will turn off earlier.
Impressions
It is worth frankly admitting that the device is not suitable for beginners, too many nuances in the Colibri Stone will require careful attention from the vaper, and some moments are not implemented in the most convenient way. Firstly, it is worth noting the battery compartment cover, which sometimes will have to be unscrewed with a coin or tweezers, this is a design feature that the developer had to go for in order to maintain miniature size. The second nuance is related to the board. Yes, it protects the batteries from discharge, and in new versions also from reverse polarity (in a regular mech, it often does not matter which side you install the can), but at the same time it does not provide for disabling electronics, short-circuit protection and any settings – the mod gives all the available voltage on the battery, in this regard, it is a classic mech mod, so it will require care (albeit minimal) for the threads. At the same time, when pouring the atomizer, there is a high chance of flooding the open board, and if you use excessive force when tightening the cap, you risk easily crushing the electronic filling and thus being left without a device at all. In general, the device requires careful handling and steady hands. You will still have to look for 18350 batteries, and you should not expect miracles of survivability from them, probably even 20700 and 21700 can be found more often on the shelves of vape shops. From purely personal experience, I will only say that with a 1.5 Ohm winding in my Kayfun Prime, a full charge is enough for about two tanks until the board turns off.
